Can you believe it?  I've already caught my first cold from the kiddos.  Thanks to some Airborne, Zicam and bed rest, I've managed to rebound pretty quickly.  Unfortunately, Brandon woke up with a sore throat this morning and I fear that he's in for the same thing I'm just now getting over.  What can you do?

 

I bought an apron today after getting paint all over my new cords and new j crew t-shirt.  Won't be making that mistake again!  (It does appear to have come out in the wash, thank goodness!)

 

We have a florist!  I'm super excited about the bouquets!!!  And this weekend we're heading down to Boise for some family time and picking out/purchasing our wedding bands.  We've got less than four months to get everything else ironed out... no problem! 

I really, really love my job.  I don't think I can ever go back to being a regular classroom teacher after this.  I am completely in love with being a specialist.  Every lesson that I plan and prep is fun and interesting.  And classroom management is really not that much of an issue.  I'm in heaven.  And this whole "Mondays off" thing is AWESOME.  Today, I made curriculum maps for each grade level (k-5) covering the next nine weeks.  That means all the planning is done, I just have to prep each lesson.  (Thank goodness the district's art curriculum is good - total time saver!)  I only regret that I have been put in charge of assemblies...that's not so wonderful, but hey, it's not that bad either.

 

Brandon's folks came for a quick over-night visit this weekend.  We had a lovely time together - especially our meal at Atlas Foods in the U Village.  Tasty scallops and mussles!!!  They brought all sorts of goodies with them from Brandon's grandmother's house: kitchen aid stand mixer, crystal stemware, silver chargers....the works.  Our kitchen is very, very full now.

 

And one last bit of good news: We've discovered that there's a pho restaurant just down the road that serves veggie pho!  I could eat that stuff twice a week!  So filling and relatively good for you!

 

Oh, and we have someone to do the wedding cake!  Woo hoo!

 

 

I had a very successful holiday weekend.  My auntie helped me make invitations for the wedding and they're gorgeous!  Now I just have to take the proofs to kinkos and we are in business.  Plus, I went on a crazy one-day shopping extravaganza with Ella.  I got two pairs of cords, two oxford shirts, two cardigans, two lightweight tees, two regular tees, running shoes (with special insoles for my high arches) and a new running outfit.  I feel re-born!  And I really like to buy things in twos....

 

First day of school tomorrow - woo hoo!
