11月29日 Snow Day #2The ice and snow haven't melted yet, so here I am - at home again. I wonder if the roads between our apartment and my salon are clear... could be a good excuse for some pre-wedding grooming. Or I could continue my quest for the perfect short plaid skirt at Northgate Mall...
On a sad note, I looked up the nutritional information for Starbucks' eggnog latte - my seasonal favorite - and discovered that a grande is 10 points. That's Weight Watchers talk for about half of my daily fat/calorie intake. Craptastic. 11月28日 Snow DayWell, the snow and ice turned my five day weekend into a six day weekend. Woo hoo! What have I done with my day so far? I watched all of the ER episodes on our Tivo while Brandon worked from home on his laptop. Yeah, that's about it. Now I'm gonna try to correct some art assessments while we watch another Christmas movie.
Brandon and I managed to get some errands done before the snow started falling last night. We went downtown and got our marriage license, updated our registry at Crate and Barrel, and got some gifts for our groomsmen. Not bad.
Hopefully we can make it to the gym this afternoon...I feel like a lazy bum.
11月26日 It's beginning to look a lot like ChristmasThere is snow on the ground, the Christmas tree is up, the fire is crackling and we are wrapping presents. Oh, and we're watching the best Christmas movie of all time: Love Actually. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
In other news, I snagged a black shrug to wear with my rehearsal dinner dress and (Stacy London - be proud) a knee length black pencil skirt. It was my reward for LOSING weight over Thanksgiving (instead of gaining). Woo hoo! 11月20日 GRRRR!We just got our first rendition of our estimated bill from the country club. The total cost is about $1500 more than we had budgeted. And here's the great part - we can't do anything about it! The $900 service charge and $500 in sales tax cannot be included in the food/beverage minimum. That means we can't just order less to bring the cost down.
I am so pissed off right now! I guess we're gonna have to kiss our spending money for Vegas goodbye. Turkey Time is Almost Here! The dress fit, but with the holiday season fast approaching I'm a bit worried about it still fitting in about 40 days. I've decided to go on the offensive and be more prepared for the upcoming food fest. Brandon and I made two low points pumpkin desserts this weekend and I think we'll bring at least one of them with us. You can have three pieces of my pumpkin pie for the same points as one piece of the regular stuff - it's the phyllo dough crust. We're also bringing a big green salad and my favorite ginger dressing (on the side), soy nog (which is actually quite delicious and it's only 2 points), and lots of wine (which is better than hard alchohol or beer).
We got tickets to see Zumanity in Vegas - it's the racy Cirque du Soleil show that's Cabaret-esque - and we're thinking about getting tickets for the Amazing Jonathan, Penn and Teller or Howie Mandel. Just thinking about our trip makes me want to go back to the BCBG outlet for more dresses. I still need to get a black shrug or something for my rehearsal dinner dress, but I got some black, pointy-toed high heels! It's so exciting! Woo hoo! Real girl shoes!
Have I mentioned that we got a wedding coordinator? Now we don't have to be all stressed out on our big day. If there's a problem or question, she'll handle it. I think we'll enjoy the night more - knowing that the details are covered.
We've got about 70 people who have RSVP'd "yes" so far; hopefully no more than 80 additional people will do the same before the 5th of December. I wonder how many folks we're gonna have to call...
Creative Dance/Movement is going well and the ArtWalk has been really well received. I feel like folks are truly appreciative of all that I'm trying to do and bring to the school. I also like that I can wear my gym clothes to school each day.
11月10日 Time to relax! It has been a very long week, but all 420+ pieces of art have been cataloged, measured, matted, labeled and hung. The ArtWalk is officially up! Now I can really enjoy my long weekend, starting with a quick trip to Tulalip for some outlet shopping. I'm leaving for Portland tomorrow morning for even more shopping AND my first fitting for "the dress". At some point I need to plan for my first week of creative dance/movement.... |
