10月30日 Two Months to GoWe sent out invitations on Saturday. That means we are about two months away from the big day! I can hardly believe it. It seems like we just started planning for this yesterday.
I got my ring back from "fat camp" and it's so small and dainty. I love that my fingers are two sizes smaller! My wedding band arrived along with my re-sized engagement ring. It's gorgeous.
I called Maura at Ania today and she's going to call about my dress - see if she can get me a delivery date. I'm really hoping that it can be delivered by the 13th so that I can do the first fitting Veteran's Day weekend. My mom and I need to find her a dress, I need a new dress for the rehearsal dinner, and I wanna get some yoga pants for dance/movement. Since the PE teacher gets to wear shorts and sneakers, I figure that the dance teacher can wear yoga pants and t-shirts. Oh, and I want to go back to MAC and get some more brushes/makeup.
I set a goal weight with my new doctor today and I'm quite happy that she's being very reasonable about it. The ideal for my height is 140 lbs, but she raised it a bit so that it would be a weight that I could actually reach, and more importantly - maintain. If the scale was right at the doctor's office, I'm 18 pounds away. That feels so good. And the fact that I tried on size 12 pants at J Crew and they fit... that felt good, too.
I'm gonna get back to cleaning, my favorite vocation on Mondays. Lord, I love a clean house! 10月17日 New 'BrowsI went and got my 'brows done this afternoon. I am a happy camper. I asked her to lighten 'em and take a lot more than usual. She was happy to oblige. Check out my before and after 'brow shots. What a difference! I think I'll keep it up for the wedding. 10月9日 Thoughts from my cozy bed on a Monday MorningIt's Monday, which means that I am at home doing wedding stuff. I made the horrible mistake of going in to work last Monday. Some of my fellow teachers actually scolded me for coming in on my day off... and you know what? I'm glad they did. I don't ever need to do that again.
I survived my first observation of the school year last Wednesday. It was a complete success. My principal loves me and is totally impressed with all that I'm doing. In fact, she said as much at a very big and important assembly on Thursday in front of the superintendent, board members, community members and lots of parents. (Well, she didn't say that she loved me, but she did say that I am great and that she wants to raise some money so that my position can be 1.0 - full time - instead of 0.8.)
Brandon's show, Clues, opened this week. I went to the opening night gala on Thursday (in the black halter dress I bought in Chicago during Spring Break which is now HUGE on me) and had a fabulous time. Very, very funny!
I got my hair done on Saturday. It is so LONG! I can hardly believe it. I just got my color updated, but I think I'm gonna get a little trim next time I go in. I think it grows faster that way. And the damage remedy shampoo/conditioner I'm using has totally improved the condition of my hair. I am a very big Aveda fan now. Not that I wasn't before...
Brandon and I worked on invitation prep and music yesterday. I'm feeling good about where we stand, even though we have less than three months to go. We ordered an address stamp, which will be a big time saver when assembling invitations and response cards. I'm going to Kinkos today to start the printing process. Brandon designed labels for our CD/favors. I've gotta start cranking those out... And I got a lot of music from iTunes for the reception: Etta James, Harry Connick Jr., Sister Sledge, Kool and the Gang... I love that I can buy songs individually, instead of having to get the whole darn album. Case in point: We need Shout to properly recreate the montage from Wedding Crashers, but thanks to iTunes, we don't have to purchase an entire Isley Brothers CD.
There's only one thing I'm slightly worried about. Back in August, I got measured for my wedding dress and was told that I needed to lose 1/2" in my waist, or I could just order a larger size. Of course, I said I'd lose the 1/2". Nine weeks later, I've only lost 5 pounds. My bust and hip measurements have shrunk, but so far, my waist hasn't. I have some serious work to do in the next few weeks. I'm 18.4 pounds away from my goal weight, so I won't get there before the wedding. But I do want to lose 8.4 before the end of the year. Maybe my Spanx can help put a dent in that 1/2"... |
